Our Story

Built in the kitchen.

FusionPrep started with a chef, a tablet, and a simple idea: there had to be a better way to keep recipes consistent across a growing restaurant group. Today, we power kitchens in 3,000+ restaurants — from single-unit concepts to enterprise brands with hundreds of locations.

The Origin

It started with a frustrated chef.

A Tampa chef told us something that stuck: "It's hard to keep recipes consistent across multiple locations."

That one sentence became FusionPrep.

We built the first version as a simple digital recipe and build-card database for a handful of kitchens in Tampa. No labels. No temp logs. No compliance dashboard. Just recipes, builds, and a way to update them without reprinting and re-shipping binders.

The Build

One feature at a time. One operator at a time.

What you see today wasn't designed up front. It was built, one feature at a time, in response to hundreds of requests from the culinary directors, food-safety leaders, and ops teams who used it.

They asked for food rotation labels.
We added them.
They asked for temperature logs — and then for wireless thermometers so nobody had to write numbers on a clipboard.
We added those.
They asked for line checks, prep lists, and above-store reporting so regional managers could see what was happening across every kitchen without driving to each one.
We built it.

Every major capability in FusionPrep is a direct answer to a question a real restaurant operator asked us. That's the shape of the platform, and it's why teams in 3,000+ kitchens use it every shift.

Where We Are Today

A kitchen operations platform for multi-unit restaurants.

Today FusionPrep is three pillars — Training, Safety, and Compliance — that work as one connected system. A recipe change updates a food rotation label. A failed temp check triggers a corrective action. A line check ties back to the training that prepared the team member to run it.

We're a kitchen operations platform now. But we still build the way we started: one conversation with a real operator at a time.

Where We're Headed

The next chapter.

Two things we're actively building:

Cross-platform

The next version of FusionPrep will run on Android alongside our existing app — so operators with mixed device fleets can standardize on one platform.

AI and automation

We're building intelligence into the platform that lets ops and culinary teams spot issues before they become incidents, ship training updates faster, and automate the work that still takes too much manual effort today.

Same company. Same philosophy. Same commitment to building what operators actually need.

The Team

Built by 212 Digital, Inc.

FusionPrep is the flagship product of 212 Digital, Inc., founded in 2011 by Chon Nguyen and Shawn Berg in Tampa, Florida.

211°F Hot water.
212°F Steam that powers a locomotive.

The "212" comes from 212°F — the temperature water boils. At 211°F, water is hot. At 212°F, it turns into steam that can power a locomotive. It's a one-degree difference that changes everything.

That's the principle the company was built on: small, sustained effort, applied with discipline, is what compounds into something transformative. It's how we built the product. It's how our customers run their kitchens.
